Jose Gonzalo Sanchez Escobar, MD

Description

Jose G. Sanchez Escobar M.D. is a board-certified endocrinologist. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine and serves as the Co-Director of Thyroid and Parathyroid Services at Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Sanchez originally hails from Ecuador, were he completed his medical education. He subsequently finished internal medicine residency and endocrinology fellowship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. His clinical interests involve quality control projects to improve the outcomes of fine needle aspiration biopsies of the thyroid gland, as well as procedural education for endocrinology fellows. He was recently awarded a two-year research grant by the New York State Department of Health to investigate the pathogenesis and clinical behavior of thyroid neoplasia in LatinX patients, as well as to introduce novel therapeutic approaches to both benign and malignant thyroid tumors in this population.
