Description

Dr. Sidney Brejt is a board certified vascular and interventional radiologist at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He is an assistant professor of radiology and an attending physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He serves as director of pediatric interventional radiology for NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. Dr. Brejt specializes in minimally invasive, image-guided treatments that reduce pain, shorten recovery time, and allow patients to return to normal life as quickly as possible. He treats a wide variety of conditions that range from cancer to men's and women's health issues such as fibroids, benign prostatic hyperplasia or enlarged prostate, varicocele, hemorrhoids, and osteoarthritis in the knee. He also provides non-surgical treatments for children with vascular anomalies through Columbia’s multidisciplinary Vascular Anomalies Program. Using leading-edge imaging and technology, Dr. Brejt offers effective, nonsurgical solutions that are tailored to each patient’s needs. Dr. Brejt is highly skilled in interventional oncology, a subset of interventional radiology that uses imaging to target tumors precisely while minimizing side effects and preserving quality of life. Using advanced imaging and catheter-based techniques, he cares for patients with primary and metastatic liver cancer, as well as tumors in the kidney and other organs, using treatments such as Y90 radioembolization, chemoembolization, and tumor ablation. A passionate educator, Dr. Brejt serves as the program director for the Interventional Radiology Integrated Residency, a five-year training program for interventional radiology residents, as well as for the one-year Interventional Radiology Independent pathway. He was ranked one the top doctors in New York by Super Doctors in 2025 and 2026. Dr. Brejt received his medical degree from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. His postdoctoral training consists of a one-year internal medicine internship at Maimonides Medical Center and a four-year diagnostic radiology residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, followed by a one-year fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology, also at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Brejt is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society and the Association of University Radiologists.
