General Practice Medicine New York
David Huang, DO, ScM, is a hematologist and medical oncologist who specializes in treating genitourinary cancers, including prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancer. He practices at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan and at the R.J. Zuckerberg Cancer Center in New Hyde Park. His passion for oncology began in an undergraduate lab at Johns Hopkins University. Meeting patients and doing 'bed-to-bench' research made me realize that this is a field where I can make a real impact on people's lives today, while also advancing research for patients in the future, says Dr. Huang. He eventually chose genitourinary cancers because they are complex, with treatment paradigms constantly evolving, making the work both challenging and fulfilling as new options become available for patients.Dr. Huang earned a Master of Science (ScM) in biochemistry and molecular biology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and his medical degree from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York. He completed his residency and fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he served as chief fellow. As a clinician, Dr. Huang strives to have close and clear communication with patients and their caregivers. It can be a frightening and confusing process. I aim to translate what's happening to patients and to guide them and their caregivers through their specific cancer journey with care and compassion.
