Dr. Shoko Mori is a board-certified dermatologist and Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.Dr. Mori completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she majored in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience and graduated with honors. She earned her medical degree at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. During medical school, she conducted research on the management of complex skin cancers, including melanoma and squamous cell carcinoma, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Her work has been published in JAMA Dermatology, the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and the Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.Dr. Mori completed her dermatology residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Her clinical interests include general and medical dermatology, with a particular focus on skin cancer prevention and treatment. She cares for a wide range of common skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, and eczema, and also treats blistering disorders and autoimmune skin diseases. She performs procedures including skin cancer and benign growth removals, and offers a wide range of cosmetic treatments including lasers, Botox, chemical peels, and microneedling.She is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and serves as a board member of the Japanese Medical Society of America. Dr. Mori has also been named a New York Super Doctors Rising Star.Dr. Mori is dedicated to an empathetic, patient-centered approach and provides comprehensive dermatologic care for patients of all backgrounds. She speaks English and Japanese fluently.
