Dix P. Poppas, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.A.P. is the Richard Rodgers Professor of Pediatric Urology at Weill Cornell Medicine and a nationally recognized leader in pediatric urologic surgery. A tenured professor since 2006, Dr. Poppas holds joint appointments in Pediatrics and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His practice is dedicated exclusively to pediatric urology, with special expertise in genital reconstruction, disorders of sexual development, laparoscopic and robotic surgery, and minimally invasive treatment of vesicoureteral reflux. Dr. Poppas is widely recognized for his expertise in minimally invasive and robotic techniques and was named one of New York’s “Top 100 Minimally Invasive Surgeons, ” the only pediatric urologist selected. He is also listed among New York’s Top Doctors and Best Doctors in America. He completed his urology residency at New York Hospital–Cornell Medical School and his fellowship in Pediatric Urology at Boston Children’s Hospital–Harvard Medical School. A diplomate of the American Board of Urology and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Poppas is also a co-director of the Laboratory for Minimally Invasive Urologic Surgery, where he focuses on advancing surgical technology and improving outcomes for children through innovation and research.
