    Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

    Dr. Fay is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Fay received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from New Jersey Dental School, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey. Following her doctoral training, Dr. Fay completed a one-year general practice residency at Jersey City Medical Center. It was her experience here that inspired her to pursue advanced education in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Fay completed four years of surgical residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During residency, Dr. Fay received extensive training in dental extractions, orthodontic surgical procedures, orthognathic surgery, complex maxillofacial trauma and reconstruction, placement of dental implants, surgical management of sleep apnea, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery, anesthesia, maxillofacial pathology, and pre-prosthetic surgery including bone grafting. She then attended Jefferson Medical College, and upon graduation earned an MD degree. This was followed by an internship in general surgery, also at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Fay has participated in several surgical missions to Vietnam and Honduras for Operation Smile where she both provided treatment to patients, as well as, took part in a lecture series given to Vietnamese dentists and surgeons. Dr. Fay holds an academic appointment at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx where she is active in teaching residents in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Pediatric Dentistry, and General Practice Residency programs. She is also an active clinical attending on staff at The Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Fay is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, a fellow in anesthesiology of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and a member of the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, as well as a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Society and the New York County Dental Society.

    Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

    Michael grew up in Long Island and graduated from G.W. Hewlett High School. He received a B.S. in Finance from the Binghamton University School of Management, and then went on to earn his D.M.D. degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, in Boston, Massachusetts. Upon graduation from dental school, Michael was accepted into the six-year M.D. integrated Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and received his M.D. degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. In his final year of training, Michael served as Chief Resident of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service and was responsible for providing care and supervising the resident staff at The Mount Sinai Hospital, Elmhurst Hospital Center, the Bronx V.A. Hospital, and Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. In 2011, Michael went on his first dental mission of mercy to an orphanage in the Dominican Republic. then, he has continued to demonstrate his compassion for the less fortunate by volunteering for additional missions to underserved populations in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and most recently in Tecate, Mexico, where he participated in a cleft lip and palate repair team. Michael’s outstanding training will enable him to provide the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery procedures including orthognathic surgery, general anesthesia and IV sedation, dental implants and bone grafting, management of oral pathology, cosmetic procedures, repair of oral-facial trauma, as well as traditional dentoalveolar surgery. He serves on the teaching staff of The Mount Sinai Hospital, where he has admitting privileges for patients requiring hospitalization or operating room procedures.
