  • Jose Bandujo

    President and Founder

    Since founding Bandujo Advertising + Design in 1993, Jose has lead the agency’s creative, account and digital teams in supporting some of the country’s leading brands and most innovative start-ups. The unique perspective he brings to every client challenge comes in part from the substantial client-side experience he gained earlier in his career. While leading an international marketing team for AT&T, he worked firsthand with some of the world’s top ad agency networks including FCB, Young & Rubicam, Wunderman and Digitas, as well as with smaller, creative boutiques. More than once, he saw his budget and business objectives take a back seat to an agency’s enthusiasm to make their mark creatively. This is what drove him to create Bandujo, an agency whose focus would always be on superior service and inspiring creative that delivers on each client’s business objectives. “Clients hire us for creativity and strategic thinking,” he said recently, “but ultimately they’re hiring us for the positive impact we make on their sales and brand. They want us to help them get the most out of every dollar they spend.” Looking out for what’s best for the client has been Jose’s purpose since day one, and it’s one of the reasons clients like JPMorgan Chase have stayed with the agency for over a decade. To this day, Jose leads the agency while working directly with clients on a daily basis, providing his seasoned insight and strategic marketing counsel. Clients value his honesty and straightforward advice, and always know their marketing partner is 100% focused on what’s best for them — not what’s in the best short-term interest of the agency. Jose has created a strong culture where “Good enough” isn’t in anyone’s vocabulary. So every project, from the smallest to the largest, is viewed with a critical eye and a “could it be better?” mentality. Jose graduated magna cum laude from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia and has his MBA from Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland. He also served as the vice chairman and six-year member of the board of directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

  • Amanda Kane

    Vice President, Client Services

    Amanda is responsible for leading the company’s strategy and account planning, and ensuring the Bandujo teams are always meeting client objectives, and exceeding their expectations. Driven by the agency mantra of “never lose sight of a client’s business objective,” she oversees the strategic planning and creative development for all Bandujo clients. Amanda’s ability to deliver strategically-sound creative has played an integral role in helping WisdomTree Investments grow from an unknown, startup ETF provider — launched when few Financial Advisors even knew what an ETF was— into one of the most successful in the country with over $30 billion in assets under management. On board from the start, Amanda has helped spearhead everything from the firm’s initial branding, identity and messaging to its sophisticated online presence to its savvy use of digital and mass media channels. Today, CNBC, Bloomberg and Fox Business News web and TV viewers not only instantly recognize WisdomTree ads, they trust their client and institutional investments to this family of “common sense” ETFs. Amanda graduated magna cum laude from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ. She was also the creative force behind a successful monthly pop-up event in Asbury Park, NJ that unites renowned artists and artisans in unique locations — creating ideal venues for attracting and interacting with new customers.

    Executive Creative Director, Art

    Bob Brothers has been leading the creative art team at Bandujo since early in the agency’s history. Throughout his tenure, he’s continued to be at the forefront of helping brands navigate the continually changing media landscape, including leading the transformation of their creative to work effectively across the digital communications spectrum. He’s been called upon by some of the country’s most respected brands — including Condé Nast, Bank of Tokyo, Bank of America, AOL, Showtime Networks, Time Warner, Citigroup Private Bank, ESPN, JPMorgan Chase and Disney to create fresh, energetic campaigns. Along with his award-winning work for many of the country’s Fortune 500 brands, Bob’s creative talents have played an integral role in helping a vast range of new startups launch their brands. These include Unpakt, and their new online application that’s creating full transparency for moving customers. Copia, which is transforming how kids read and students buy textbooks through their range of educational and reading apps. And BIDS Trading, one of the early innovators in the world of financial services block trading. In fact many of Bob’s clients that began as startups, such as ETF provider WisdomTree Investments, have become multi-billion dollar brands or been successfully acquired.

  • Shawn Kelly

    Executive Creative Director, Copywriting

    As ECD of copywriting at Bandujo for 10 years, Shawn’s been the innovator behind many of the agency’s most memorable and effective campaigns. A snapshot of our personal favorites includes: “Remission Accomplished” brand campaign for Roswell Park Cancer Institute, one of the nation’s leading cancer centers. “Are you Pouring on the Pounds”, the breakthrough campaign for the New York City Health Department that gained world-wide attention on YouTube, TV and even a Tonight Show monologue, becoming one of the most notable and effective campaigns ever developed against sugary drinks. “Good things do come in small packages”, JPMorgan Chase’s most successful customer acquisition direct mail package for several years. “Hang out at night with a bunch of tarts, creampuffs and flakes” which successfully introduced The French Culinary Institute’s first evening pastry program, attracting new students to one of the country’s top culinary schools. “They’ll be totally booked” created for the introduction of Copia’s reading app, which promoted the educational value of Verizon Tablets to parents. The “e-condom” social media campaign promoting condom usage among teens that inspired thousands to send our virtual “e-condoms” to their friends. Shawn’s reputation for strategically-driven campaigns and outstanding copy means clients often ask for him by name before starting an important marketing campaign. They value his unique conceptual mind and ability to craft copy that commands attention, and inspires action – whether he’s turning a complex topic like financial services or technology into friendly prose, or tugging at the heartstrings to drive response on a critical health initiative. Before joining Bandujo, Shawn helped introduce BMW’s Z4 roadster to America, named an energy drink for Campbell’s, and helped the first New Jersey Tax Amnesty program recoup $320 million in unpaid income taxes – 4 times their goal. He was an editorial cartoonist at Penn State and later studied ad copywriting at The School of Visual Arts in NYC. Shawn’s daily commute from the west side – New Jersey’s – makes the train his second office. He loves camping with his family, and looks forward to conquering his second Tough Mudder event this year.

  • Ryosuke Matsumoto

    Creative Director, Digital

    Ryosuke Matsumoto leads the digital experience creative teams at Bandujo. His obsession with the “what’s next” makes him a leading resource for brands looking to transform their customers’ online, digital and social experiences. Currently, Ryosuke’s work can be seen across the Condé Nast online landscape for publications including Vanity Fair, GQ, Vogue, Glamour and Wired as he helps Condé Nast re-invent the subscription and renewal process through its partnership with online retail leader Amazon.com. This new online digital experience is expected to ultimately play a critical role in helping these iconic brands increase their penetration and subscriptions among the vast network of more digitally savvy, younger consumers. Ryosuke also leads Bandujo’s video, social and viral marketing efforts as more and more clients look to develop more effective ways to communicate their messages through alternative media. An example is the worldwide success of his “Are You Pouring on the Pounds/Drinking Fat” viral video and online campaign created for the New York City Department of Health. It immediately became a top-ranked video on YouTube, with the most views ever recorded for a public health message. Its success continues today as countries across the world adopt the campaign in their battle to fight the ever-growing obesity epidemic.

  • Wes Hester

    Director of Creative Innovation

    Like all marketers today, Bandujo clients are constantly hearing about newer, “better” ways to reach their target. It seems every new site, every new digital platform, every new social media venue and app claims to be the most disruptive, effective way to target customers. Separating the truly valuable opportunities from the hype — and helping Bandujo’s clients navigate this evolving digital landscape — is the main focus of Wes Hester, the agency’s Director of Creative Innovation. “How can it help my business? Is it worth considering? Is it working for our competitors? Is it cost-effective”? These are some of the client questions Wes addresses every day before making insightful, strategically-driven recommendations. Equally focused on proactive solutions, he’s the first to understand emerging digital opportunities and curate the options that can help our clients meet their business objectives. Most recently, Wes led the interactive and UX creative team in the complete overhaul and redesign of the Bank of Tokyo – Mitsubishi UFJ intranet site. His strategic counsel and creative thinking led to the implementation of a site that offers unique personalization while connecting thousands of employees on this side of the globe. Since launch, the site continues to garner positive feedback as more and more employees come aboard. Originally from Mississippi, Wes earned his BFA in Graphic Design at the Memphis College of Art. He continues to educate himself in anything involving web technologies and future trends.

    Technology Director, Digital Development

    For nearly 15 years, this leading interactive developer has been crafting engaging digital experiences for some of the world’s largest and most recognized brands. George has played an integral role in award-winning projects across multiple industries and user segments throughout his career. He has an extensive background leading diverse development teams here and abroad, and bringing projects to life for global clients including Fortune 500 leaders. George has worked across multiple technology frameworks, development languages and in closed and open networks, and his expertise encompasses open source PHP/MySQL content management systems such as Drupal, Joomla, WordPress and others. At Bandujo, George leads the development teams for all digital and interactive work for clients including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of Tokyo and Condé Nast. He is regularly involved in strategic planning to create optimized, validated and accessible deliverables for their diverse customer needs. Prior to joining the agency, George worked for Lincoln Financial Services where he managed the technology initiatives for client transactions and marketing-driven public facing initiatives, and specialized in data visualization and portfolio planning tools. While at full-service digital healthcare agency Blue Diesel, he led a team that earned a reputation for creating dynamic websites and mobile applications, pioneered the use of self-directed presentations, and architected and built successful Tablet PC- and iPad-based presentations for pharmaceutical giants including Merck and AstraZeneca. George previously functioned as lead developer on J&J’s Concerta brand, the company’s largest client, and was responsible for award-winning work on their Managed Care tool. Earlier in his career he lead teams at ad agencies Foote, Cone & Belding and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, producing digital projects for a diverse list of leading brands including AT&T, Anheuser-Busch, Mazda and Citigroup. George attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
