Niroshana Anandasabapathy, MD, PhD M.S. FAAD is Associate Professor of Dermatology in Microbiology and Immunology at Weill Cornell Medicine, Vice-Chair of Research in Dermatology, and is actively involved in Immuno-oncology at the Meyer Cancer Center and precision medicine in the Englander Institute for Precision Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Anandasabapathy completed her undergraduate studies at Stanford University and subsequently completed graduate training in cancer biology and T cell immunology during her MD Ph.D. at Stanford University. She then completed a research-coupled residency in Dermatology at NYU. Dr. Anandasabapathy received an additional Master's in Clinical Investigation conducting trials and studying the biology of Dendritic Cells at the Rockefeller University with the late Ralph Steinman (Nobel Prize 2011). She started her independent laboratory at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School in 2013 where she served as clinical faculty in Dermatology and at Dana Farber Cancer Center in the melanoma clinic. In 2018 she relocated to Weill Cornell Medicine in NYC.  As a physician scientist Dr. Anandasabapathy's practice centers on the detection and treatment of skin cancer. Here, she works closely with other institutional stakeholders in melanoma including dermatology, dermatopathology, medical, surgical and radiation oncology and Mohs Surgery. She is committed to student and faculty training, mentorship and development. She has held a number of institutional roles that reflect this. She teaches mentee directed mentorship to students and faculty, teaches faculty grant writing, serves as Associate Director of the Tri Institutional Medical Scientist Training Program, and enjoys mentoring faculty at the local and national level. As a scientist, Dr. Anandasabapathy has maintained an independent, continuously NIH funded laboratory since 2013. She is an appointed member of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy (PICI), and an elected member of the American Dermatology Association, and the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI). A practicing physician-scientist with a focus in melanoma and cutaneous oncology, her translational and basic science laboratory studies immune barrier homeostasis and the influence of tissue immune surveillance on tumor immune surveillance in both mice and humans. Their work spans infection, autoimmune, vaccine and tumor immunity.
